Introduction

Since the rise of the ‘early generation’ of MX-style switch manufacturers such as Gateron, Kailh and Outemu, numerous other brands started to gain traction and popularity amongst the enthusiast community - one of them being Tecsee. As a newer contender in the switch manufacturing scene, Tecsee switches offered unique materials which the companies before them did not - UHMWPE, PME, POM etc. as well as unique stems that were long-poled, a feature not commonly found in switches at the time.

The Tecsee Purple Panda is a tactile switch with a round D-shaped tactile bump similar to that of the Holy Panda, coupled with a long stem pole that shortens the travel to just 3.0mm. The PME housing makes for a smooth push feel even with the minimal factory oil, and a unique high-pitched yet ‘thick’ sound signature. If you’re into franken-switching, the stems of the Purple Pandas make for a great Halo stem replacement for use in Zykos, producing a slightly cleaner bottom out sound due to the difference in pole diameter vs. Halo stems. The Purple Panda sparked the start of Zyko-inspired tactile switches, and in our opinion is still worthy of being a top long-pole tactile pick today.

If you’re into short travel switches with a medium-strong tactility, this switch is for you.
