Introduction

The WS Morandi is a rather popular switch especially in recent times, and for good reason. Manufactured by a relatively newer manufacturer, Haimu, the Morandi is sought after for its consistent push feel, full sound and overall solid performance. Unlike other WS switch releases which would typically come in a themed collection (WS Switches, MM Switch, WS Aurora), the Morandi is a standalone offering alongside the Onion, Pearl and a few others. The Morandi is immediately recognizable despite its rather neutral colour code, thanks to the large light diffuser made from PMMA material that sits nicely within the top housing - a hallmark of Haimu-made switches.

Despite what the POM housings may suggest, the Morandi sounds very full and solid, somewhat reminiscent of the ‘thick’ sounding Cherry and Tecsee HPE housings. This full sound is amplified by the crisp stroke of the long pole, giving the Morandi an assuring and pleasing bottom-out tone. Smoothness is good as well, not the best we’ve seen but still pleasant to use and very consistent among switches - test out 100 Morandis and you’d be hard pressed to find an outlier.

If you want to experience what a good long-pole switch is like, this switch is for you.
