Tecsee Blue Sky Tactile Switch

Introduction

The Tecsee Blue Sky Series consists of two switches - the Linear and the Tactile. As with newer releases from the brand, both Blue Sky switches utilize their proprietary HPE material, a blend of UHMWPE which we prefer due to the unique ‘solid’ feeling and acoustics. It shares the smooth push feel that we’ve come to know and love from UHMWPE, but without the soft and muted sound associated. The stem is also similar to that of other modern Tecsee switches, with a slightly shortened 3.8mm travel which boosts bottom-out sound without sacrificing much travel.

You can think of the Blue Sky Tactile as a Tecsee Purple Panda with a longer travel distance - the bump feel is almost identical in that they are both strong, P-shaped and start at the very top of the keypress. Smoothness on the Blue Sky Tactile is a tad bit better, the HPE housings pair really well with the tactility allowing users to feel just the tactile bump without any additional scratchyness or wobble. Sound is amazing as well, a loud yet subdued bottom out thud with basically no leaf ping - something very unexpected especially given the level of tactility on offer. In fact, we love this switch so much that we personally use it in a Singa75 paired with an aluminium plate, a match made in (keyboard) heaven.
