Introduction

Differing from the more affordable KTT switches such as the Red Wine, Mint and Sea Salt, the KTT Matcha is part of the brand’s more premium lineup with distinct housing designs and moulding. Instead of the latch-style housings KTT has been known for, the Matcha features the standard 4-leg MX style housing construction which makes switch opening and modding easier. Aside from this major difference, the Matcha and other similarly-tiered KTT switches also appear to be slightly smoother stock, thanks to a different application of lube. Consistency is also noticeably better, with less variances in both sound and feel per batch.

The KTT Matcha in itself is a rarity, considering that it is one of the few tactiles offered by the brand. It has a comfortable P-shaped tactile bump that starts right at the start of the keypress, and accounts for roughly 3/5 of the total travel distance. The rest of the travel is equally as smooth, gliding linearly towards bottom out. The weight of the KTT Matcha may seem a little light when looking at the specsheet, but in actual usage it does feel quite a bit heavier thanks to the tactility of the big round bump - nothing uncomfortable of course, feels just right in our opinion. Sharing the same extended pole design as other KTT switches, the KTT Matcha has a clean and distinct bottom out sound, with virtually no difference in feel vs. a standard 4.0mm travel switch. Overall, we think that these are a must-try for tactile fans looking for a snappy mid-ground tactile, having higher tactility than light tactiles such as the Cherry/Gateron Brown, whilst being not as jarring as say the Boba U4T or Purple Panda.

If you love a comfortable switch with just the right amount of tactile feedback, this switch is for you.
